What is an Invisalign?

Invisalign is composed of a series of clear plastic aligners to move the desired teeth into their ideal position.  The patient is advised to replace their aligner trays every 2 weeks until the obtain the perfect smile.

During your initial consultation at Fourth Ward Dentistry, Dr. Sundaresh will scan your teeth using a intraoral device to scan your teeth and plan out your treatment. This allows for patients to see a simulation of the final result and length of time it will take to achieve their best results. Once the patient has received the aligners,  our patients are asked to wear them at home all day and night except when they eating, drinking, and brushing their teeth.

How to take care of the Clear Aligners?

Wear your aligners at all times except on some occasions

In order for you to obtain the best results you should wear your trays for 20 hours or more.

Aligners should be changed as scheduled

The set of aligners that Dr. Sundaresh or Dr. Naz provides to their patients should be changed every two weeks and the staff at Fourth Ward Dentistry will assist you in keeping track of that so you receive the best possible results.

Dental hygiene is a must

You Should brush and floss your teeth to prevent the accumulation of plaque which can result in other dental problems.

Keep drinking plenty of water

Did you know that while wearing aligners you may not be producing enough saliva which can result in dental problems? It’s always imperative to drink plenty of water to compensate.
